7th International VIVA FILM FESTIVAL will be held from September, 22nd to 26th

‘It is an honor and a great pleasure to invite you to the upcoming 7th VIVA FILM FESTIVAL 2021, International Documentary and Short Film Festival, which will take place in Sarajevo and in 17 other cities of Bosnia and Herzegovina this year.’ ‘We invite all film artists to submit their films, so that we can exchange ideas and expand our views together’, said the Festival Directorate. ‘We expect representatives from 30 countries with over 60 films from all categories. The films which get selected for the official selection will be screened during the four days of the festival in all cities – at the same time.

This year as well, the authors will compete for prestigious awards in the four festival categories: Religion (films whose theme promotes diversity of religion, with a goal of rapprochement, understanding and tolerance between religions);

Ecology (films whose theme promotes the natural heritage of countries of film’s origin with a goal of promoting ecological awareness);

Tourism (films whose themes promotes tourism potential of the countries from which they originate);

Youth film BiH (films made by the youth of Bosnia-Herzegovinian elementary and high schools through Viva School of Film)

‘It would be a great honor to watch films from your production, i.e. your country at this year’s 7th Viva Film Festival’, said Ratko Orozović, professional film director, and the festival’s artistic director.

The Grand Prix for the best film achievement of the 6th International VIVA Film Festival was won by Waleska Santiago from Brazil, for the film “Sweet Poison”.

 

The first prize, a golden butterfly in the category of ecological film, was won by the jury’s decision: “Kostoberine, beard of the winds”, Spain, Manu Mateo Second place, a silver butterfly, went to the film “Ka Mano Moana”, the Netherlands, Lotte Twaalfhoven, and a bronze butterfly, third place in the category of ecology was won by the author from Kenya Teeku Patel, for the film “Do rhinos have a future?”

In the tourism category, he won the Golden Klapa for the best tourist film of the 6th VIVA Film Festival
Mario Orozco from Mexico for the film “Flag”. The second prize, a silver klapa, went to the film “Adventure of Scents”, Sahin Yigit, Turkey, and the third place and a bronze klapa went to the film “Cork Mask”, Tiago Cerveira from Portugal.
 
Najbolji religijski film, odlukom žirija je ‘’(M)adam: Revidirano Adamovo rebro”, USA, Lizzie Berne DeGear i Martha Mapes, njemu je pripalo zlatno drvo 6. VIVA film festivala. Drugo mjesto, srebreno drvo, osvojio je film ”Grančice i kistovi”, autora Komeil Sohelli iz Irana, a bronzano drvo za treće mjesto u kategoriji religija pripalo je Emiru Valinezhadu iz Rusije za film ”Noqte”.
   
As a reminder, in the official selection of the 6th VIVA Film Festival in the categories of tourism, ecology and religion, 30 films from 23 countries were shown, and festival screenings and awards were organized online, in accordance with epidemiological recommendations due to the global corona pandemic.

The program of the 6th VIVA Film Festival today includes screenings of 10 selected films in the category of religions.

On the third day of the Festival, meet an unusual group of people who reject traditional methods of practicing religion and find their own way to spirituality by watching the film “Sowers of the Soul” (Malgorzata Szyszka). How to present Buddhist motifs and products of the global market and entertainment industry on the same screen? Find out in Komeil Soheili’s film “Branches and Brushes”. The combination of old and new, past and modern reality, a mixture of native and Christian culture will evoke the story of a miraculous festival in the film “Amazon, the Holy Hills” (Lia Beltrami). A unique festival is also held in northeastern India. Prayer street performances are organized to clean the streets. “Spiritual Message of Sualkuchiia” is a film by Anupama Baishya, and it presents an incredible idea of ​​purity that makes this Indian village special.
Lizzie Berne DeGear and Martha Mapes present “Adam (Adam’s Revised Rib), an animated short film about a biblical story (we thought we all knew).
“Osmildo” (Pedro Daldegan), fights to save the mother tongue, differentiated indigenous schools, sacred rituals, traditional medicine and the land of the Kuntanawa tribe.
The film on calligraphy, an art that depicts Islamic heritage, culture and tradition (“Noqte” is brought to us by Emir Valinezhad), and Simone Pizzi, author of “Like You”, will describe interpersonal relationships through meetings of believers from different countries within the Milan area.
Immerse yourself in the world of ancient pagan magic through the eyes of a young person of the modern world in the film “Whispers” directed by Weronika Frycz, after which we travel to Serbia where you will meet an unusual Orthodox priest, his way of life and understanding of the universe in the film “Father Arsenija”, directed by Svetlana Cemin .

SCREENINGS OF ECOLOGICAL FILMS 2nd DAY IN THE PROGRAM OF THE 6TH VIVA FILM FESTIVAL

With screenings of selected environmental films, in three terms from 12.00, 20.00 and 01.00 after midnight on the website www.vivaba.com, we continue the online edition of the 6th VIVA Film Festival.

On the second day of the Festival, we dive beneath the surface of the ocean in the film “Ka Manō Moana” (Lotte Twaalfhoven), a documentary about the importance of sharks for our ecosystem.  (Miguel Cortes Costa & Ricardo Guerreiro), and getting to know the Pyrenees from a different perspective brings us Manuu Mataeo and the film “Costaberine, the Beard of the Winds”.
In the film “Wasted Effort” (Muhammed Bozbey), we will follow the path of a loaf of bread and ask ourselves what is our attitude towards the valuable resources we have.
“Dying” (Zerina Oručević) is a story about the ecological problems of the City of Mostar, and in the film “Three Days to Freedom” Milica Alavanja presents the villagers who are trying to prevent an ecological catastrophe due to the announcement of building a small hydroelectric power plant in the village of Topli Do in southern Serbia. . A similar struggle is being waged by the local population of a city in northeastern Brazil, “Sweet Poison” (Waleska Santiago), a film about the incredibly dark side of pesticide use.
In a different way, Luis Enrique Cruz Trujillo presents us with “Coatlán” (Snakes), which are indiscriminately killed in Mexico due to repulsion, myths and legends.
